Methods for City Region Foresight

Newcastle City Futures Exhibition

In June 2014 the team created a pop-up exhibition and 24 public forum events, engaged more than 2,500 people and generated more than 100 comment cards and ideas for the future development of Newcastle.

Below is a short film about the Newcastle City Futures exhibition and events series, including an interview with Leader of Newcastle City Council Nick Forbes. The exhibition featured architecture and urban planning and design schemes from the past, present and future and the events series engaged the public in discussions

Stakeholder Workshop

Following on from the exhibition a one day stakeholder workshop was hosted by the University to bring together reprsentatives from the private, public and voluntary sectors in the city region with a view to mapping the future challenges and opportuntites for Newcastle. The diagram shows the main themes and how they are interconnected.
