A consortium including local mental health charities, NHS trusts, Newcastle and Gateshead councils, and Newcastle University are exploring new ways to measure social connectedness within the city-region.

In particular, the consortium is interested in developing and testing new methods that are not simply based on aggregate quantitative data, but on more direct engagement within local communities.
